Can you tell the difference between Peter Land and Maurizio Cattelan artwork?

Last summer I visited an exhibition by Peter Land in Lubeck and I immediately connected the artworks of Peter Land with those by Maurizio Cattelan.

Can you spot which one is from Maurizio Cattelan and which one is from Peter Land? I bet you can do it! Maurizio Cattelan is an “artistar” his artworks are well known, but honestly, if I hadn’t known them before, I couldn’t have told the difference.

Provocative artists & artwork

Both artists protest against the strong economic and social powers of our society, they are provocative, irreverent and they make you feeling uncomfortable when you are staring at their artistic creations. They force you to think about the deeper meaning of their artworks and to come up with a new personal interpretation of their artistic creation.

Golden toilet, hanging horses, men buried by bricks & stones, girl pouring water, man about to be hanged by a sausage: their artworks are tragic, comic, ironic and sagacious at the same time, nevertheless people, curators, art critics and the art market love them, so do we.
